Majority of Doctors Prefer Online Events

virtual conferenceThe Joint Survey of Physician Digital Behavior found that 84% of doctors who participated in the survey, across a variety of specialties, would prefer continuing medical education training to be conducted online rather than in person, although only 6.4% actually participate in any type of virtual event very often currently.

Benefits of being able to attend more conferences and other events virtually include viewing “on-demand” content at convenient times, avoiding unnecessary travel, having more personal/leisure time, and better overall patient care.  Providers appear to be more mobile than in the past, with almost 75% of respondents stating that they either have an Apple iPad or plan to buy one in the next six months, and 14% stating that they either have a non-iPad tablet or plan to buy one in the next six months.

A tablet computer, along with the appropriate network and security infrastructure, can allow a provider access to an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system like Allscripts MyWay, Medisoft Clinical, or Lytec MD from inside or outside the office.  Microwize Technology can assist in the implementation of such a system.
