How We Got Started

Microwize Technology was founded in 1997 by Robert Gabriel, our President and CEO, who had a personal experience that ignited his passion for improving the healthcare industry.

His mother was hospitalized in 1995, and he saw firsthand how hard doctors work with little technological assistance to improve her care. His curiosity led him to observe the daily routine of a doctor’s office, where he realized the complete lack of information flow within the office and the help they needed. Additionally, through research, he found alarming statistics regarding preventable deaths and unnecessary medical procedures, which inspired him to provide innovative solutions for physicians and healthcare facilities.

Gabriel founded Microwize Technology to offer cutting-edge solutions such as electronic medical records, e-prescribing, and patient portal access to ensure our clients’ success. Although initially accused of founding a non-profit organization, Gabriel believed in doing the right thing and building a for-profit company that remains at the forefront of the electronic healthcare revolution.
