Workers’ compensation is a no-fault system that provides wage replacement benefits and lifetime medical care for work-related injuries and illnesses in New York State. All for-profit employers and most not-for-profit employers must carry workers’ compensation insurance to cover all their employees.
New York currently requires workers’ comp claims to be submitted on specific insurance forms and not the CMS-1500 (02/12) used for standard non-institutional claims. Other states also have their own requirements and their own forms for this type of claim.
