Last week, the Premier healthcare alliance unveiled the world’s largest virtual healthcare community to help over 100,000 providers share patient outcome data and best practices. The new network will integrate clinical, financial, and operational comparative databases, as well as real-time Electronic Health Records (EHR) data from over 325 hospitals, enabling providers to base decisions on a combination of quality, safety, and cost information.
The PremierConnect community will also facilitate the monitoring of clinical performance and the effectiveness of medical homes in improving care while reducing costs; alerting of possible harm-related events within a system; and elimination of unneeded care that adds to costs and can compromise health and safety. Supply chain leaders, hospital executives, clinicians, and other healthcare providers in the performance improvement alliance will have access to the technology platform and can interact online in communities of common interest.
