A White House Health IT Town Hall brought 82 healthcare providers to Washington, D.C. on Tuesday for recognition of their implementations of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Senior White House and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) officials talked about their efforts to promote EHR and healthcare IT adoption across the country, and the progress they’ve made as well as the barriers they have come across.
Greenway Medical vice-president Justin Barnes, a panelist at the invite-only meeting, described the discussion as “very, very lively” and felt that the officials were attempting to gauge the nation’s progress on healthcare IT adoption, particularly EHRs and interoperability. Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) comprised the first topic and the administration officials encouraged attendees to share their success stories.
Lytec MD, Allscripts MyWay, and McKesson Practice Choice are EHR systems which Microwize Technology installs and implements for healthcare providers around the nation.
